IVQuestbridge is GREAT, *sometimes*. Quest bridge is an amazing program for disadvantage, and low income student students who do not have the typical awards and stats that would allow them to be competitive in a traditional college admissions process. Because of the deal that they have with the colleges, they can both make it easier for those students to get in and also provide them with scholarship support.
*HOWEVER* many low income and disadvantage students are so brilliant, that despite those obstacles they are still able to get stats that are competitive with regular applicants. In that case, quest bridge does nothing for them. They would already get full scholarships because the financial aid is need based, and they would already have a huge advantage in the admissions process because it is structured to favor cases of hardship. Those students, should not do quest bridge because they are giving up an opportunity to choose the college they want to attend.
So if you have gaps in your application use Questbridge, if you don’t, there are better options for you.
