You might have seen these beauties in our Luxe arrangements! By reflexing our roses we turn an otherwise tightly furled shape into a voluminous bloom.
🌹 FLORIST TIP 🌹
It's best not to use your freshest roses when doing this technique - this can result in petals snapping. Once you have gently peeled back your petals and are nearing the centre you can either blow into the middle or flip the stem upside down and swirl in between your hands to separate the rest.

CHReflexing, reflexed roses are also known as French petaling, French open roses which is somehow a much dreamier way to call this technique.
A floristry technique to open roses. This technique transforms tighter, smaller, and seemly standard looking roses into larger, more luxurious and sophisticated looking blooms.
I think some roses definitely benefit from this technique while it’s completely unnecessary to some others. Either way it is an extra step for processing and if it’s not something I feel “needs” the extra fluff I’m 100% going to skip out on this unless it’s part of the vision of course lol. I mean..can you imagine have to reflex 1000+ roses? 😅
My husband dislikes reflexed roses (lol) while I’m pretty indifferent and I know some who love it.
In this reel I’m working with a Mondial rose. The difference before and after, to me, isn’t a huge difference..but there is a difference lol. So what do you think? Would you reflex these roses or skip it? Are you for or against this floristry technique?

It’s called reflexing and it really only requires practice, patience and a gentle hand.

1. Choose your rose wisely.
Not all roses flex the same. Some of our favorites are quicksand, Moab’s & Nina’s to name a phew.
2. Remove guard petals.
Take off any rough petals with imperfections.
3. Begin to reflex.
Hold the rose with one hand and in the one begin by using your thumb and pointer finger to gently bend/flex the petal back.
4. Layering.
You can flex just 3-5 petals to give it that lux look - or flex all of the petals to get the full effect.
5. Spritz.
Grab your mist bottle and giver her a lil mist! Then let the rose hydrate in water for 20 minutes or so to really take on the new shape.

LII never do this… but I’m sharing this because it’s exactly what we just spoke about at Bloom.
The fear of posting.
The fear of judgment.
The fear of what random people on the internet might say.
This comment came from a reel of me reflexing a rose, simply sharing something fun and creative with our community. And somehow, it’s turned into a few women negativity leaving comments and even bullying others.
This has nothing to do with me an nothing to do with the flower method I shared.
This is a reflection of their internal world, their triggers and their awareness.
And this is exactly why we don’t shrink!
I genuinely have no issue with people having opinions, that’s part of putting yourself out there. But I do have an issue when that turns into bullying within my community.
That part, we don’t tolerate.
Control, alt, delete… and block 🚫
But here’s the powerful part…Instead of letting this stop me, I’ve used it.
Turned it into content and something that actually serves.
So if you’ve ever felt scared to post or to share, let this be your little reminder to not let anyone’s noise stop you from expressing your passion.
Because the right people?
They’re not judging.
They’re inspired.
They’ll celebrate you, support you, and show up for you every step of the way. 🩷
