Physics Wallah faculty member Rishi Jain was conducting a routine online lecture on GDP calculation when a student casually remarked that he resembles Bollywood actor Ravi Kishan. What followed was a response that nobody in that class should have had to hear — Jain used a casteist slur while making a comparison, in front of students, on a live educational platform.
The video went viral almost immediately.
Physics Wallah responded swiftly, suspending Jain with immediate effect and releasing a statement reiterating a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of discriminatory or insensitive language, calling the remarks a grave violation of their core values and institutional code of conduct.
Jain has since issued a public apology, stating his words were unintentional and that he never meant to hurt any community — promising to be more careful going forward.
