I installed this reverse osmosis system myself, and here's how I chose which system to buy, after years of research: 👀after seeing my local municipal water reports (not great) and SCOTUS's Chevron ruling, I finally made this investment in an RO system. an RO system removes 99% of toxins, including PFAs, lead, fluoride, pesticides, and more. ✔️not only does this system have all the must-haves of a great RO system (NSF 58 certified, remineralization filter, easy to change filters, low amount of water waste compared to other systems, fits under most standard sink cabinets)-- it also has a battery (so you don't need to install an electrical hookup under your sink if you don't have one), comes with a drinking faucet in a choice of 4 finishes to match your home, hooks up to bluetooth via an app to show you the filters lifespan based on YOUR use, rather than an arbitrary time frame to replace filters that can be wasteful if done earlier than necessary. 🔧and super perk-- i was quoted $600 to install this system, but i did it myself and it was honestly so easy, even without plumbing experience, because of how this system is already pre-set up with the tube connections and piping. the scariest part was drilling into the drain pipe, but it really wasn't difficult at all! just make sure you have a hole already drilled into your countertop (i used our soap dispenser hole!), otherwise you probably will want to hire someone to do that part ☕️🐶coffee tastes better, we use this for cooking rice, oatmeal, pasta, and of course, benny's water dish because he deserves the purest water too!

RO is considered the gold standard for what you actually consume because it removes far more dissolved solids than standard filters. As Rita Hogan shares here, you should replace the minerals if you are using RO water for your pets because it can lead to kidney issues over time due to lack of minerals. Dr. Peter Dobias agrees saying “Unfortunately, reverse osmosis removes minerals (in addition to harmful contaminants) which leads to mineral depletion.” If you are looking at purchasing an RO system, be sure to buy one that reintroduces minerals back into the water before distribution.⁠ ⁠ 💧 Filtered, tap, bottled?
