CHI can’t even begin to describe my obsession with this #RubyVest by @hisydgraham —it’s ✨magical✨ in every way! The fit is just oversized enough to layer over both a sweater and a t-shirt. It’s structured, but not too stiff (I went with the 1.25” quilting as suggested in the pattern). It’s the ultimate transition piece, and I can’t wait to wear it through the next three seasons.
I’m also incredibly proud of my sewing work on this piece. While nothing was particularly difficult, I really took my time with the details, and it shows in the construction. This was my first time patchworking and quilting, and I used three pairs of old jeans and a shirt (plus some interfacing) to make the front 👖For the lining, I went with a cute quilting cotton from Joann.
If you took my poll, you’ll know I was debating adding jean pockets to the lining. After trying them pinned on, I decided it looked way too busy when worn, so I opted to leave them off.
I could go on for 6 more paragraphs but I will leave you with this. Yes, to address the elephant in the room—there may be 1.5 gratuitous shots of my butt in here 🍑
