JAIf you’re not using the runner’s knot yet, you’re missing out.
This is my go-to trick for a locked-down fit without that horrible lace pressure on the top of your foot.
I’ve been using it for years. All you need is a shoe with double top eyelets. It takes seconds to do - simply follow along and prepare to feel the difference.

👟 Every 300-500 miles (carbon plated shoes should be replaced sooner, 100-200 miles)
👟 When the cushioning feels worn out
👟 When the sole is worn smooth
👟A change in flexibility
👟 The fabric is fraying or separating
👟 Less responsive
👟 You’re feeling new aches and pains
👟 You’re getting blisters or calluses that you weren’t getting before
👟 AND yup, when a new model or colorway is released and you just can’t resist 🤭

ELI learned about the runner’s loop a couple of years ago and I’ve tied my shoes like this ever since 👟
If your heel slips, you get blisters, or your shoes never feel properly locked in, this is a total game changer!!
The heel lock keeps your foot secure at the ankle so it doesn’t slide forward which means more stability and more space for your toes.
Less pressure at the front = fewer bruised or lost toenails 🕺🕺

BOThe most expensive mistake you can make when buying running shoes? Buying your “exact” size. 🛑
Here’s why your “true size” is actually the wrong size:
1. Size vs Fit: I’ve wasted money ordering my “usual size” online only to find the new model fit completely differently. Don’t risk it, test them in-store!
2. The Swell Factor: Your feet expand as you run due to increased blood flow. A “snug” shoe in the morning is a “painful” shoe during a long run.
The Golden Rule: Go a half or full size up. Your feet (and your wallet) will thank you.
