In the U.S., experience-driven venues value this: fine dining, classic steakhouses, hotels, resorts, cruise lines. You won’t see it everywhere, but when it happens, guests feel it: “thanks for saving me the work and the mess.” In Europe, tableside culture is strong too: filleting fish, carving meats, finishing dishes in front of the guest. Casual, high-volume spots do it less due to time and cost; high-standard venues treat it as part of the craft. The point isn’t empty elegance: • less effort for the guest • less chaos on the table • more enjoyment from the first bite Always with respect: “May I remove the shell here at the table?” If yes: clean, fast, controlled. people tell me all the time “I want out of the industry” yet, they refuse to invest their efforts into anything outside the industry claiming that it won’t be “as good” as the money & flexibility that this industry lures us in with. im not here to advise anyone on leaving their stability behind but what I am here to share is that creating a different reality for yourself WILL require you to earn your dollars in a different way (( that absolutely can be earned whilst still working your job)) but here’s the truth you need to hear : even if your money “is good” you’re still only able to earn it when you physically show up you’re still missing out on presence with your family by saying yes to another shift and while that double may not bother you in your 20s-40s is it really gonna feel the same in your 50s?! serving conditions us to take our lives day by day which sure, can be “good” but in doing so, we blindly refuse to look at the long term of our lives not planning for when our priorities shift from nights out and quick fix trips to prioritizing our physical and mental well being, our financial health, our family members and a joy & purpose that exists beyond the table. if you’re in that place, wanting to do something different but unsure on how to do something different- DM me WAITRESS and I’ll show you a free webclass on how it can be done ✨🪩🌈
