May Allah grant us the chance to visit the blessed city where Rasulullah ﷺ was born, to perform Umrah, to circumambulate the Ka'bah, and to worship in Masjid al-Haram. The Makkah Royal Clock Tower is the world's tallest clock tower, standing at 601 meters (1,972 feet) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the central and most prominent structure within the larger Abraj Al-Bait complex, which is government-owned and located directly across from the Masjid al-Haram, Islam's most sacred site. The tower is officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest clock tower in the world. The clock faces are also the largest in the world, each measuring 43 meters (141 feet) in diameter. The clock faces are illuminated by 2 million LED lights and are visible from up to 25 kilometers (16 miles) away at night. The complex was built as part of the King Abdulaziz Endowment Project to accommodate the millions of pilgrims who visit Mecca annually for Hajj and Umrah. The towers house several luxury hotels (including the Fairmont Makkah Clock Royal Tower Hotel), a five-story shopping mall, residential apartments, and large prayer halls. The top four floors of the clock tower feature the Clock Tower Museum, an astronomy and timekeeping museum open to the public, which also offers a viewing deck with panoramic views of the Grand Mosque and the city. The design incorporates Islamic architectural elements, and the tower is topped with a spire and a gold mosaic-encrusted crescent moon that houses a prayer room.
