One of the most common questions parents ask about our NeuroEdge Intensives using photobiomodulation (low-level light therapy) is: “Is it safe for kids?” Short answer: Yes. Photobiomodulation uses specific wavelengths of light to support cellular energy and brain function. It’s non-invasive, painless, and many kids simply play or relax during their session. At Edge Therapies, we use this approach alongside therapy to support children who may be experiencing: • speech and language delays • sensory regulation challenges • attention and focus difficulties • emotional regulation • feeding challenges The goal is to support the brain and nervous system, helping children get more out of the therapy they’re already receiving ✨ Families come to Edge Therapies in the Sarasota and Bradenton area looking for innovative pediatric therapy options that support the brain and nervous system. 💨 April intensives are already full, but we are currently booking NeuroAdaptive™️ Intensives for May and June. 📞 Book a free discovery call to learn more Call or text 941-226-8617 or click the link in our bio. Disclaimer: Photobiomodulation may not be appropriate for children with certain medical conditions (including active cancer, photosensitive disorders, or other contraindications). A consultation is required to determine if this therapy is appropriate for your child.

Research has shown that photobiomodulation can influence: • mitochondrial activity through cytochrome c oxidase • nitric oxide release • ATP production (cellular energy) • anti-inflammatory signaling • cerebral blood flow regulation ~ These signaling pathways can influence neural networks beyond the exact depth of light penetration. ~ So at AKAP we think of it more simply as priming the brain. If we can reduce inflammation, improve oxygen utilization, and support cellular energy, it may help the nervous system respond more efficiently to therapy and support neuroplasticity. ~ For example, one mother whose child has been using LLLT for about 6 weeks, and then continued during his intensive with us this week, shared the following observations: • She said this was the best intensive her child has had, and he has been doing two intensives per year for several years. • Her child is sleeping better, which has resulted in much more daytime energy. • Our therapist Tara has been able to work on much more advanced exercises because he seems more confident. • We suspect this may be related to reduced fear and improved nervous system regulation. • We’ve also seen improvements in primitive reflex patterns, which we are addressing through therapy along with LLLT at the brainstem where reflexes originate. ~ Of course, this is one family’s clinical observation, not a controlled study. That’s why we present LLLT as a tool, not a miracle treatment. ~ At All Kids Are Perfect we only use it in conjunction with PT or OT intensives, where movement, sensory input, and motor learning are still the primary drivers of development. The laser simply supports the brain and nervous system while that work is happening. ~ I also intentionally priced it much lower than many clinics because I never want families to feel like they’re being sold a miracle cure. It’s just one more tool in our toolbox. Book for May and summer now!

Here’s the truth most parents don’t hear soon enough 👇 Your child’s brain doesn’t just need “more therapy”… it needs energy. Every single thought, behavior, emotional response, and motor skill is powered by ATP — the cellular energy your child’s brain depends on to function. If ATP is low, the brain quite literally cannot perform at its highest potential. Not because your child isn’t trying… but because the brain doesn’t have the fuel to do what’s being asked of it. This is where everything shifts. At OTEIM, we focus on optimizing the brain at a cellular level — because when you increase ATP production, you increase the brain’s ability to: • process information • regulate emotions • improve focus • build new skills faster One of the ways we do this is through low level laser therapy — supporting mitochondrial function and helping the brain produce the energy it’s been missing. This is why families see changes that actually last. If you’ve been doing all the things and still feel stuck… this might be the piece you’ve been missing. You can train the brain the same way you train a muscle. Here’s exactly what we’re activating in this clip: • Left frontal lobe → Quick eye movements (saccades) to the right • Left parietal lobe → Slow tracking eye movements (pursuits) to the left • Left parietal + occipital lobe → Visual input placed in the right visual field so it crosses over to the left side • Left cerebral cortex → Photobiomodulation (laser therapy) to support energy and activation in that region The more we activate brain networks together, the more powerful the therapy becomes. That’s a big part of why we see the results we do. This is a strategy called co activation. Co activation means pairing sensory/motor input/out with photobiomodulation (laser therapy) that supports energy production in that same region. One stimulates the circuit. The other helps fuel it. When you combine them, the effect is amplified. The goal is neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to change, adapt, and become more efficient over time. In this case, we’re targeting the left hemisphere to help it integrate at a higher level. Language, speech production, and many detail oriented cognitive skills are largely supported by the left side of the brain. When we strengthen those networks, we often see improvements in the symptoms tied to them. Most parents have never heard of this approach. Comment “start” and I’ll send your FREE access to our NeuroActive Brain Training program. In there, we break down the root causes of your child’s brain health and ways to improve it.

Could light therapy support brain function in autistic children? Emerging research is exploring the use of transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM), a noninvasive red and near-infrared light therapy, in children ages 2–6 with autism. In one study, researchers observed: ✔ Changes in brain activity on EEG 🧠 ✔ Improvements on a developmental assessment measuring areas such as communication, social interaction, and sensory responses ✔ No serious side effects reported during the study ✅ Outcomes were measured using the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS), which evaluates areas such as communication, social interaction, sensory responses, emotional regulation, and adaptive behavior. This is emerging research, and scientists are continuing to explore how approaches that support brain metabolism and nervous system regulation may influence developmental skills such as communication, engagement, and sensory processing. At Impact Speech Therapy, we take a brain-based approach to supporting speech, language, and cognitive development while honoring neurodiversity and each child’s unique way of experiencing the world. If you’re curious about brain-based approaches or want to learn more about the research, feel free to reach out! 💛 Study referenced: Fradkin, Y., De Taboada, L., Naeser, M., Saltmarche, A., Snyder, W., & Steingold, E. Adding laser therapy changed everything. I studied chiropractic, functional neurology, primitive reflex integration, sensory therapies.. They all helped, but were rarely transformative in the way we hoped. Adding laser to my programs has unlocked the potential of all our other therapies by: - Boosting brain energy production - Soothing brain inflammation - Boosting blood flow and oxygen - Enhancing neuroplasticity Before I saw some changes, but now I see real transformation for kids with: - ADHD - Autism - Brain Injury - Developmental delay …and more.
