How do engineers stabilize an unstable system?
This project demonstrates the classic inverted pendulum on a cart, controlled using multiple control strategies including PD, LQR, and Model Predictive Control (MPC).

Thermocouple dan RTD
(Resistive Temperature Device) adalah dua jenis sensor suhu yang umum digunakan.
Perbedaan utama terletak pada cara kerjanya:
thermocouple menggunakan efek termoelektrik (dua logam berbeda yang menghasilkan tegangan saat terkena panas),
sementara RTD mengukur perubahan resistansi listrik dari suatu material (biasanya platinum) yang dipengaruhi oleh suhu.
Thermocouple:
Keunggulan:
Rentang suhu luas: Mampu mengukur suhu yang sangat tinggi, hingga 1700°C atau lebih, tergantung jenisnya.
Respon cepat: Lebih cepat merespons perubahan suhu, cocok untuk aplikasi yang memerlukan pengukuran cepat.
Ukuran kecil: Dapat dibuat dalam ukuran yang sangat kecil, sehingga cocok untuk aplikasi dengan ruang terbatas.
Biaya relatif rendah: Umumnya lebih murah daripada RTD.
Tahan lama: Lebih tahan terhadap getaran dan lingkungan yang keras.
Kekurangan:
Akurasi rendah: Kurang akurat dibandingkan
RTD.
Non-linearitas: Output tidak selalu linier terhadap perubahan suhu.
Drift: Outputnya bisa berubah seiring waktu (drift) karena perubahan pada logam.
Membutuhkan referensi: Membutuhkan referensi suhu (cold junction compensation) untuk pengukuran yang akurat.
RTD: Keunggulannya adalah:
Akurasi tinggi: Lebih akurat dan stabil dalam pengukuran suhu.
Linearitas: Outputnya linier terhadap perubahan suhu.
Stabilitas tinggi: Sangat stabil dan tidak mudah terpengaruh oleh perubahan lingkungan.
Repeatability: Memberikan hasil yang konsisten saat pengukuran dilakukan berulang kali.
Kekurangan:
Rentang suhu terbatas: Rentang suhunya lebih terbatas dibandingkan thermocouple,
umumnya hingga sekitar 650°C.
Respon lambat: Lebih lambat merespons perubahan suhu dibandingkan thermocouple.
Biaya lebih tinggi: Lebih mahal dibandingkan thermocouple.
Pemilihan:
Jika aplikasi Anda membutuhkan pengukuran suhu yang sangat tinggi, respons cepat, dan ukuran kecil, thermocouple mungkin menjadi pilihan terbaik.
Jika akurasi, stabilitas, dan linearitas adalah prioritas utama, dan rentang suhu tidak terlalu ekstrem, RTD adalah pilihan yang lebih baik.

Pulse amplitude modulation is the simplest form of modulation. It is an Analog to digital conversion method where the message information is encoded in the amplitude of the series of signal pulses.
Pulse amplitude modulation is a technique in which the amplitude of each pulse is controlled by the instantaneous amplitude of the modulation signal. It is a modulation system in which the signal is sampled at regular intervals and each sample is made proportional to the amplitude of the signal at the instant of sampling. This technique transmits the data by encoding in the amplitude of a series of signal pulses
🔶️The pulse amplitude modulation can be generated through 555IC by connecting one NPN transistor at the output. The connection of this IC can be done in the astable mode for producing a pulse train so that samples of the audio signal can be obtained.
