We completely disguised an underbite without a single stitch of surgery. No jaw surgery. No orthodontics. Just filler and an expert eye. From visible underbite to total harmony, all through advanced facial mapping. This lovely patient originally had quite a significant underbite, which even from a front-on view was visibly throwing off the balance of her face and making her appear slightly older. An underbite occurs when the lower teeth and jaw sit forward of the upper teeth when the mouth is closed, which can make the chin appear more prominent and the midface look slightly recessed. From the front, this often gives the illusion of heaviness in the lower face and can disrupt facial balance. While filler cannot alter the underlying jaw structure or function, careful placement can camouflage the imbalance by restoring midface projection and harmonising the overall proportions. For this patient, we focused on subtly rebuilding the midface and adding carefully placed volume through the top lip area to soften the downward-pointing negative vectors that age the face and enhance the upward-pointing positive vectors that create lift and youthfulness. This has to be done with the lightest possible hand, as even a few millimetres too much would risk looking unnatural. We used 6ml total. Her treatment was completed over several sessions, leaving her with a completely natural and beautifully balanced result. Facial balancing for overbites and underbites is one of the most common corrective treatments we perform, and it is always crazy rewarding to see the harmony it restores. This patient travelled to our Harley Street clinic in London, and it was an absolute pleasure to treat her.

Expander and reverse pull headgear treatment. This expands the narrow upper jaw and the headgear pulls the upper jaw forwards to achieve the nice profile change you see. 2. Braces. Due to severe teeth crowding and misalignment, some teeth needed to be removed so the teeth can be straightened safely and be healthy for the long term.
