Tips for cinematographers and visual artists Working 7 years as a full time artist, what gets me hired is vision, innovation and consistent results. Often times we see people talking about "talent doesn't get you hired" but I don't fully agree with that. When you're operating in a high level, artistic skills are a must. But so is business expertise. You have to get out of your comfort zone. It's a daily sacrifice of learning the artistic skills, business and implementing them. Any "secrets, hacks" might give you a quick boost, but nothing like operating long term, learning the fundamentals of art and business. That's why I always like to emphasize the importance of delivering high quality visuals every time to my students!
