PBHōkūleʻa is getting ready to relaunch the Moananuiākea Voyage!
This is a 4-year journey around the Pacific which involves visiting 36 countries and archipelagos, nearly 100 indigenous territories, and more than 345 ports.
Polynesian Voyaging Society President Nainoa Thompson recently sat down with PBS Hawai‘i to reflect on the early days of Hōkūleʻa and where he sees Hōkūleʻa 50 years from now.
“You know, from my generation side, it’s not our kuleana to define that,” he said. “It’s young people’s need to define that.”
