Day 1 – Guwahati → Imangrey
Started from Guwahati around 12 PM.
Booked a 7-seater (Ertiga / Innova) — highly recommended because the roads are proper tera-mera and the journey is long.
Reached Imangrey village around 8 PM.
🏠 Homestay: ₹1,500 for 2 people
🍽 Dinner: ₹600 per person (veg + chicken options)
🍳 Breakfast (next day): ₹500 per person
Rested early for the next day.
Day 2 – Wari Chora Experience
Started early morning.
👣 Local guide: ₹500 per person
🚙 Off-roading (Bolero to base camp, ~30 mins): ₹2,000 (shared)
🥾 Trek: ~30 minutes downhill to reach Wari Chora
🚣 Boat ride: ₹200 per person
🦺 Life jacket: ₹100 per person
Spent time inside the canyon and headed back.
Returned to homestay around 1:30 PM, left for Guwahati at 2 PM.

COThis unreal 10-minute boat ride in the Garo Hills of Meghalaya feels so out of this world, it almost looks fake.
Lush green walls, tiny stream-like waterfalls, and that quiet magic that makes you feel like you’ve stepped straight into a Narnia scene 🍃✨
But this beauty doesn’t come easy.
Getting here takes about 8 hours from Shillong. The roads are mostly perfect—except the last one hour, which is a little sketchy. You stay overnight in the nearest village (we stayed at Chirikkam Homestay, the most decent option we found), and the real adventure begins the next day.
First, a 1-hour 4x4 ride—hands down the bumpiest ride of my life.
Then a 30-minute trek, and finally… you reach Wari Chora Canyon River.
It’s offbeat.
It’s tiring.
And honestly, it’s not for everyone.
But if you make it here, you’ll return with memories so beautiful that every bit of effort feels worth it.
We booked the entire experience through our homestay, so everything was arranged by the time we arrived—smooth, simple, and stress-free.
