ERFound this incredible video by @mory.q by way of @christian.pitti and wanted to share a few notes:
1) If this feels over the top, peep my recent post called ‘The Shimmer Effect.’ It is not over the top.
2) citing Dr. Haidt’s research, the problem isn’t the phone. That’s important to know for clarity. It is the combination of the smartphone + social medias that use algos set to optimize time on sight. This is a subtle but significant distinction for understanding why this is happening and how to address it.
3) IG isn’t inherently bad, rather, it is harmful to the degree and severity we use it unconsciously as consumers.
4) Seriously, as goofy as it may sound, if you get into a habit of setting a timer once a day for using social media, and only use it during that time, then delete it from your phone, and you do this everyday for a week, you’re gunna feel like a new person.
