INIn Karimnagar, Telangana, a husband and wife ran one of the most cold-blooded sextortion operations India has seen in recent years — and they did it together, deliberately, as a team. Lalita would post glamorous photos and videos on Instagram and YouTube, lure men into conversation, build intimacy, and then invite them to her rented flat. What the victims never knew was that her husband — a failed real estate businessman drowning in debt — had already installed hidden cameras throughout the flat. Every private moment was recorded. The trap was set before the men even walked through the door.
Once the video was in hand, the blackmail would begin. Pay up, or the footage goes to your family. Pay up, or it goes viral. Over 100 men were ensnared this way, and the couple extracted lakhs from each of them. The entire operation was funded by desperation — the husband had suffered heavy losses in business and needed money to repay loans and maintain a lavish lifestyle. The two Dhurandhar criminals had two young children at home while systematically destroying the lives of strangers. The racket only unravelled when one trader — who had already paid ₹13 lakhs — was pushed too far with a fresh demand of ₹5 lakhs and a death threat. He finally went to the police.
When Karimnagar police set up a sting and arrested the couple, they recovered multiple smartphones, explicit recordings, chat histories, bank cheques, cash, and a luxury car. But the most chilling detail? Police believe the actual number of victims could be as high as 1,500 — most of whom will never come forward out of fear and shame.
