NOIf there’s one thing I wish I still had… it would be this.
My zoa garden.
Built over time, piece by piece, every frag had a story, every colour earned, not bought overnight. It wasn’t just a section of the tank, it was a reflection of patience, stability… and a system that once felt in balance.
Since the move, it’s been nothing but battles — cyano, dinos, STN… and losing colonies that took years to grow hits different. Life’s been busy too, maybe too busy for a reef tank at this level, but I’m still here trying to fight for it.
Some days I wonder if it’s time to let go… but then I look at old photos like this, and remember why I started.

BAHere are some tips to keep your Zoanthids happy and healthy:
1. Lighting: Zoanthids thrive under moderate lighting. LED lights are perfect to bring out their vibrant colors. I keep my zoa garden at 100-150par Giving them not enough light will cause them to stretch.
2. Water Flow: Zoas prefer gentle water flow. It keeps them clean and helps in nutrient absorption. But avoid strong direct currents.
3. Feeding: While Zoanthids can get nutrients from light, occasional feeding helps in faster growth. Try targeted feeding with zooplankton or coral foods such as @reefnutrition oyster feast but don’t overdo it!
4. Tank Placement Matters: Give them space to spread out without encroaching on other corals. Zoanthids are known to be a bit aggressive in competing for space. I kept mine on their own little island so they don’t over take any other corals.
5. Handle with Care: Remember, Zoanthids can contain palytoxin. Always handle them with gloves for your safety. And use eye protection when fragging.
