5 tips to help manage your ADHD 🧠✨ 1. Focus on movement, nutrition & sleep 🏃‍♀️🥗😴 It sounds basic, but these are the foundation for everything. Movement helps release that pent-up energy through your body instead of your brain (plus all the physical benefits). Eating mostly whole, non-UPF foods makes sure you’re actually getting the nutrients you need, especially if food is one of your dopamine tools. Sleep is the key to it all. Good sleep hygiene and a simple routine set you up for the day. 2. Create a dopamine menu 📋 This has been a game changer for getting my free time back from doomscrolling. Having a list of *go-to* feel-good activities makes it easier to start when you’re stuck in paralysis. I’ve got a full video on this, but it’s one of the best ways to bring more fulfilment into your day. 3. Do less to do more 🎯 All-or-nothing routines work, for about a week. Then one small missed habit derails everything. A shorter, realistic routine helps you prioritise what actually matters and makes consistency possible in real life. 4. Make your environment do the heavy lifting 🏡 Set your future self up the right way. Sometimes I sleep in my gym clothes so I can just get up and go. Keep things visible, pin reminders up, write lists, reduce steps wherever you can. Your environment is there to support you!!! 5. Work *with* your brain, not against it 🧠 You’re not lazy, your brain just works differently. Take short, frequent breaks. Get outside to reset. Use timers, body doubling, whatever helps you. #ADHDHacks #ADHDTips #ADHDWomen

Are you like this too? i lived like this for years. that “fake calm” slowly ruined my life. missed deadlines. avoidance. decisions made under pressure. it led me into over 50k of debt before i finally said to myself: this can’t continue. I pulled myself out of ADHD chaos when there was no one to hold it together for me. No hype. No miracle shift. Just uncomfortable honesty and systems. if you want the simple map i created for this, dm me “MAP” and i’ll send my guide. #adhdproblems #adhdbrain #adhdmemes #adhdlife #adhdtips

To be honest, I DIDN’T think that my daughter has ADHD, but now that I know all that ADHD encompasses, I can think back to MANY things. ⭐️ Next level toddler tantrums…that she hasn’t grown out of. Kids with ADHD have a hard time regulating their emotions. ⭐️ Easily distracted. Kids with ADHD just go with what is most interesting to them in the moment without giving any thought to anything else. In kindergarten, Skylar went missing for 30 minutes. She was found in the bathroom playing with the soap suds in the sink. ⭐️ Inability to focus. When Skylar was in the 1st grade, she would come home with HOURS worth of homework to do. Come to find out, she was bringing home “stop folder” work. In other words, the teacher would give them work in class, then when it was time to move on the next activity, she would say “stop” and the kids would put any unfinished work in a folder to be done at home. She wasn’t doing ANYTHING in class. ⭐️ Trouble sleeping. ADHD kids have a hard time turning off their brains…which results in them having a HARD time falling asleep. Skylar would be up for HOURS after we had put her to bed. ⭐️ Sensory Processing Disorder. Turns out, this is common in kids with ADHD. Skylar has always been sensitive to the feel of things as well as sounds. There are more…so many more. But these are some of her struggles that made me start talking about her…which ultimately led us down the path to an officially diagnosis of ADHD Inattentive Type. Listen to your mama gut. If something feels off, it probably is. Pay close attention and talk to people. You’ll find the help you need. It definitely takes a village to raise these amazing kids!

1. Play lowers threat. ADHD nervous systems are already running hot, and play signals safety faster than logic or reassurance ever could. 2. Play regulates before it communicates. You don’t calm an ADHD brain by explaining… you calm it by connecting. 3. Play removes performance pressure. ADHD struggles under expectations, evaluations, and “do it right” energy. 4. Play creates co-regulation. Shared laughter and movement sync nervous systems without anyone having to try. 5. Play makes repair easier. It softens conflict, reduces defensiveness, and keeps connection intact. 6. Play reminds the ADHD brain it’s allowed to rest. Safety isn’t seriousness; it’s freedom to be imperfect together. #adhd #adhdtips #adhdrelationships #marriage #relationships

1. The “0 to 100” temper: you go from calm to frustration or anger in seconds over something small. — What’s happening: your brain reacts before it regulates. The emotion spikes fast, your system goes into a fight response before you can slow it down. 2. The after-effect: you react, and a few minutes later you’re like… why did I respond like that — What’s happening: once the intensity drops, your thinking brain comes back online. That’s when the RSD hits, and the shame can come in just as strong as the reaction did. 3. The sensory snap: someone is chewing, the lights are too bright, something feels “off” and suddenly you feel irritated or on edge. — What’s happening: your system is already full. One extra input pushes it over the edge and your brain reacts like it needs to make it stop. 4. The transition frustration: you have to stop something you’re focused on and suddenly feel snappy, restless or irritated. — What’s happening: switching tasks doesn’t feel neutral. Your brain gets pulled out of focus, which can trigger frustration in the moment. 5. The “no” reaction: being corrected or told “no” hits hard and can instantly trigger defensiveness or irritation. — What’s happening: your brain can register it as rejection, not just feedback. That can activate a fight response, especially with RSD. 6. The build-up reaction: you seem fine for a while, and then suddenly everything feels like too much and you snap. — What’s happening: your system has been building up stimulation and tension. When it reaches a threshold, your nervous system reacts all at once. 👇 Practical tools that actually help with ADHD ✔️ Written by a licensed psychologist ✔️ Available in English and Nederlands ✔️ Link in bio ✨ ✔️ Follow for more mental health content ✨ The Panic Reset Protocol is launching soon. #adhd #anger #adhdtips #mentalhealth #psychologist
