Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger feels the plane shudder, hears the explosions. The cockpit goes quiet. No thrust. Altitude: 2,800 feet. Speed: dropping. Time to decide where to crash: 208 seconds.
2. Air traffic control offers Runway 31 at LaGuardia. Sully calculates: not enough altitude, not enough speed, too many buildings between here and there. They offer Teterboro in New Jersey. Same math, same answer. Below him: the Hudson River, frozen gray in January, ferries crossing, Manhattan on one side, Jersey on the other. He says six words: "We're gonna be in the Hudson."
3. Co-pilot Jeff Skiles runs the emergency checklist for engine restart. Nothing works. Sully takes the controls. CIIn the early hours of a warm morning in Dubai, a dramatic and unexpected aviation incident shocked travelers and airport staff. A large passenger aircraft approaching the busy Dubai International Airport experienced serious trouble just moments before landing, leading to a frightening accident on the runway.
The aircraft, reportedly carrying more than 230 passengers and crew members, had departed from Istanbul several hours earlier. According to the fictional report, the flight had been smooth for most of the journey. Passengers were preparing for arrival, fastening their seatbelts as the captain announced the beginning of the descent into Dubai.
As the plane descended through the early morning clouds, passengers suddenly began to feel strong vibrations coming from the left side of the aircraft. Some travelers later said they heard a loud metallic noise coming from one of the engines. At first, many assumed it was normal turbulence, but the shaking quickly became stronger.
Inside the cockpit, the pilots noticed abnormal readings from the aircraft’s systems. One of the engines appeared to be losing power, and warning alarms began flashing across the control panels. Despite the unexpected situation, the experienced pilots remained calm and quickly communicated with air traffic controllers at Dubai International Airport.

Here’s a breakdown of the key antennas and what they do.
1. VHF Communication Antennas:
These are the main communication antennas on most aircraft. They operate in the VHF (Very High Frequency) range and allow pilots to communicate with air traffic control over relatively short distances. Usually located on top of the fuselage or under the belly, VHF antennas ensure clear voice communication up to about 200 miles, depending on altitude.
2. HF Communication Antennas:
For longer-distance communication, especially during trans-oceanic flights, HF (High Frequency) antennas come into play. These antennas can “bounce” signals off the ionosphere, making them capable of spanning thousands of miles.
