2025 Algebra 1 EOC - Problem 7 This problem involves using the graphing calculator to find the correlation coefficient for the table shown. Once you enter everything into the calculator, your "r" value is the correlation coefficient. Because it is negative and really close to -1, it is a strong negative correlation. #alldayeverydaymath #algebra #eoc

2025 Algebra 1 EOC - Problem 1 How to simplify expressions with distribution and decimals You're starting with 1.5(4j − 10k) − 2.5(8j + 6k). Distribute each number into its set of parentheses one at a time. Start with 1.5(4j − 10k). 1.5 times 4j is 6j. 1.5 times −10k is −15k. That gives you 6j − 15k. Now handle −2.5(8j + 6k). Watch the negative sign here. −2.5 times 8j is −20j. −2.5 times 6k is −15k. That gives you −20j − 15k. Put it all together. 6j − 15k − 20j − 15k. Now combine like terms. 6j − 20j is −14j. −15k − 15k is −30k. The final answer is −14j − 30k. The answer is C. The most common mistake on this problem is forgetting that the negative sign in front of 2.5 applies to everything inside the parentheses. If you distribute 2.5 without the negative, you get +20j and +15k instead of −20j and −15k. That completely changes the answer. When there's a subtraction sign before the second group, that negative belongs to the entire distribution. Treat it as −2.5 times each term inside. The other trap is the decimals. Students see 1.5 and 2.5 and hesitate. Don't overthink it. Just multiply like normal. 1.5 times 4 is 6. 1.5 times 10 is 15. 2.5 times 8 is 20. 2.5 times 6 is 15. Keep the signs straight and the rest is just combining like terms. #alldayeverydaymath #algebra #eoc

2025 Algebra 1 EOC - Problem 6 How to write the equation of a line from a table Pick any two points from the table to find the slope. Using (−6, −10) and (−2, −4). Slope = (−4 − (−10)) ÷ (−2 − (−6)) = 6 ÷ 4 = 3/2. The slope is 3/2. That's your m value. Now find b. Plug the slope and one of the points into y = mx + b. Using (−2, −4). −4 = 3/2(−2) + b −4 = −3 + b b = −1 The equation is f(x) = 3/2 x + (−1). So the first box is 3/2 and the second box is −1. You can verify with another point from the table. Plug in x = 4. f(4) = 3/2(4) + (−1) = 6 − 1 = 5. The table says f(4) = 5. It checks out. When you're given a table and asked for slope-intercept form, the process is always the same. Pick two rows from the table, use the slope formula, then plug back in to find b. The table is just giving you points. Treat them the same way you would treat points on a graph. The trick on this one is the answer bank. They give you extra options to confuse you. Don't second guess your math just because there are numbers you didn't use. Find the slope, find b, and move on. #alldayeverydaymath #algebra #eoc

Algebra works like a set of weighing scales. If you change one side, you must make the same change to the other to keep the balance. Solving equations such as 3x minus 4 equals 11 or 4x plus 7 equals 3x plus 12 is simply about keeping both sides equal while you isolate the unknown. This balance is the core idea behind algebra in GCSE Maths. #GCSEMaths #Algebra #SolvingEquations #MathRevision #ExamPrep

Here’s a tighter, punchier version: Most AP Calculus students miss this… Not because they’re not smart— but because they’ve never been taught how to think through problems like this. When questions get tricky, memorization breaks down… and scores drop. I teach students how to break problems down step-by-step so they gain confidence and start getting these right. 🎯 If your child is in AP Calculus and not reaching their potential… 👉 message "Math" for more information

2025 Algebra 1 EOC - Problem 3 How to simplify a square root step by step You're starting with √50. To simplify a square root, you need to find the largest perfect square that divides evenly into 50. The perfect squares are 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64. The largest one that goes into 50 is 25. 25 times 2 is 50. So break it up. √50 = √(25 × 2). Split it into two separate roots. √25 × √2. √25 is 5. So you're left with 5√2. The answer is B. C is wrong because 12.5 is what you get if you divide 50 by 2 instead of actually taking the square root. That's not how square roots work. D is wrong because 25 is half of 50, not the square root of 50. The square root of 50 is somewhere between 7 and 8 since √49 = 7 and √64 = 8. A is wrong because 2√5 means you used 5 as the perfect square factor instead of 25. 50 breaks down as 5 × 10, and 10 breaks down further as 2 × 5, giving you 5 × 2 × 5. But when simplifying, you want the LARGEST perfect square factor, which is 25, not 5. 2√5 is approximately 4.47 while 5√2 is approximately 7.07. Only one of those is close to the actual value of √50. Always find the biggest perfect square that fits. That's the key to simplifying any square root. #alldayeverydaymath #algebra #eoc

This isn’t just “take a derivative.” Students must: • Find the slope at a specific point • Evaluate the function correctly • Write the equation in proper form • Avoid small algebra mistakes It looks simple. But the AP exam loves questions that test whether students can move cleanly from derivative → slope → full equation. One small error in setup… and the entire answer is wrong. Strong AP students don’t just differentiate. They understand what the derivative represents — and how to turn it into a full linear model. Inside my AP Calculus groups, students practice precision under time pressure. Because a 5 requires clean execution. If you want to know whether your child is truly 5-ready, message me “AP.”
