Return to play 🔙🦾 For a footballer, every phase matters when returning to play after injury. By understanding the mechanism of injury and respecting the body’s natural, predictable healing process, we can progress through each early, mid and late stage with purpose: ✅ restoring movement
✅ rebuilding strength
✅ reintroducing intensity In the early stage, sagittal plane exercises are incorporated to restore knee confidence with straight line movements. Followed by frontal plane in the mid stage to gradually reload the knee with controlled lateral stress. Finishing with the transverse plane in the late stage to help prepare the knee for football-specific rotation and change of direction. Only once these foundations are in place can we safely return the player to the demands of match play. Skipping steps increases the risk of setbacks. Respecting the process protects performance, supports longevity, and safeguards a player’s career. #BuiltNotBorn
