THOopsies 😂
🥲A common occurrence in the compressor field, and industrial field in general.
🤨Oopsies that should be fixed, but never actually get the time to address them because “we don’t have time”.
🤓Most equipment and facilities have a CMMS, which is a computer maintenance management system that helps govern when things should be checked, repaired, or replaced.
👇🏼And just the like ol’ saying goes.
😟If you don’t schedule maintenance, your machines with schedule it for you.
🤷🏻♂️But I can tell you one things for sure. 90% of the places out there, don’t actually proactively plan or schedule maintenance. And even if they do plan it, it’s normally done incorrectly or at the wrong time.
😉And then they call me.
😁Tips from a millwright with 10+ years in the service industry…
- Take the time to read the manuals for your equipment and machines. Sounds simple I know, but it’s the first thing most places don’t do. Manuals normally have all the ins and outs for what your machine needs and requires to stay happy.
- Believe it or not, but every piece of equipment (as per manuals) should be looked at, at least once a day to ensure proper operations, fluid levels and temperature readings are all happy and healthy.
- Maintenance will always be cheaper than break downs. As most places forget to consider how much their “down time” is worth, when an emergency does happen. So make time for maintenance, trust me.
😂Don’t get me wrong, my career, and business has revolved around people not planning their maintenance properly, which is job security for me. But some advice coming from someone who would rather see companies not in a panic, and equipment happy, rather than not.
