NE🌊 River and Sea Cleaning Technology: How Does It Work?
This device we see is a floating filtration system designed to automatically collect garbage and waste on the surface of the water.
🛠️ Working Mechanism
1. Vacuum Effect: The device stands just below the surface level of the water. With the help of a pump inside, it draws water down, which creates a "swirl" or attraction field on the surface.
2. Automatic Collection: Plastic bottles, microplastics, papers and even oil waste floating on the surface with water are drawn into this bucket.
3. Filtering: While a fine-pore bag/filter inside the device holds the garbage, the cleaned water is returned to the river or sea from under the pump.

VALike many of us, I have been grabbing those free plastic bags at checkout every time without thinking—until I accidentally opened my eyes to my environmental impact on our beautiful planet. You see I’ve been stuffing these bags into this cabinet for years. Reusing them for cleaning the littler box, the little trash cans in our bathrooms, etc. But today I learned the real cost. And I love this planet too much not to change. I also love it too much not say anything about it. I know this isn’t new news, but single-use plastic bags fuel massive environmental damage: contributing to millions of tons of pollution each year.
I am kicking myself for not taking this seriously sooner because honestly, the fix is so simple. Just bring your own reusable grocery bag every time. Or push grocery stores to follow Aldi’s lead—they’ve already eliminated single-use plastic bags entirely, encouraging BYOB (bring your own bag) and offering cheap reusables if you forget.
I know not everyone will see and share it or even like it and I know some people already do this (amen to you, really) but if even just half of those that aren’t doing it see this and make a change, imagine the environment impact it would have. And if everyone switched to reusables or supported stores dropping plastic bags, we’d cut billions of bags from landfills and oceans annually.
What’s stopping you? Grab a reusable bag next shop. Like this if you’re in, share it to spread the word, and tag a friend who needs the nudge. Let’s kill the plastic bag habit together.

DAI’LL NEVER BUY FROM THESE BRANDS AGAIN
As an environmental scientist, I gotta be honest - fast fashion isn’t exactly kind to our planet. That’s why I avoid brands like the ones in this video (you know who you are ). Apart from environment, there are a lot of other reasons to avoid these brands, here’s the breakdown:
Nike: Nike’s supply chain, particularly the production of materials like polyester, generates a significant amount of greenhouse gasses . These emissions contribute to climate change. And there were accusations of unfair labor
Primark: they produce much more clothes than they are able to sell, so most of their clothes are going to the landfills. Most of their clothes (if not all) are very cheap plastic that will degrade in couple wears and are sent to landfills. And did you see the prices of their garments? There’s no way they pay fairly to their workers. Customers have found “SOS” messages in Primark clothing, written by Chinese inmates working in garment factories. They were claiming to work for 15 hours each day and denouncing inhumane labor practices.
Victoria’s Secret: It does not seem to have done anything to reduce its environmental footprint, and its products are mostly made from unsustainable materials. ten years ago, the brand was accused of using child labor, it is again at the heart of another scandal. Many models were sexually harassed and bullied by two top executives, and those who complained about this lost their jobs shortly after.
ASOS: super fast fashion brand, launching several collections every week with tons of clothing waste created. Were caught using child labor.
Uniqlo: Although the company has a recycling program and it uses some eco-friendly materials in its products, Uniqlo is still far from being sustainable. The brand doesn’t seem to be doing much to reduce its carbon footprint. And human labor of course, I feel like none of these brands can do ethical business.
Cider: While CIDER has introduced recycled polyester in some of its products, almost all of them are still made from virgin polyester and other synthetic fabrics. They were also acccused of not paying fair wages, and forcing people to overwork.

BBFrom the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, tonnes of seaweed are turning up on beaches in ever bigger quantities. It's crowding out native plants, affecting wildlife and can even release toxic gases.
Lots of countries and scientists are trying to work out what to do with all this seaweed - and even find ways to use it in the fight against climate change. We spoke to Santiago Stebelski, who’s 20 and from Mexico. He and his brother have just founded a company called Sargolico (@sargolico), which aims to convert sargassum seaweed into bioplastic.

The thing is ….I get you. Because I wasn’t always making nontoxic choices in my Home. I had no idea what was exposing my family to with my disinfectant wipes and dryer sheets. And I didn’t learn everything I know today overnight. But once my eyes were opened , I couldn’t unsee what I knew .
Imagine how I felt as an environmental engineer responsible for cleaning up contaminated sites ....and here I was exposing my children to contaminates in my own home .

🚫 Green doesn’t mean green. Not all eco-friendly labels are equal! Just because it says “green” doesn’t mean it is. 🌿 Scrutinize those labels like a detective on a mission! 🔍

🚫Clean doesn’t have a smell. Its just a sensory association that we have created through a lifetime of experience. Whatever products were used to clean in your house growing up is what your brain will associate as clean! Clean is just the absence of dirt!

🚫Not all scents are equal! I used to load up on the plug ins and candles...not knowing that those artificial fragrances contain harmful chemicals like phthalates, which can disrupt your hormones and lead to health issues. Artificial fragrances can trigger allergies and sensitivities, causing headaches, skin irritations, and respiratory problems.... all of which I suffered from!
