BPHari ini BPVP Banyuwangi kembali melaksanakan kegiatan monitoring On the Job Training (OJT) pelatihan Project Based Learning (PBL) Smart Farming – Automatic Irrigation System di Win’s Agro, Banyuwangi.
Kegiatan ini menjadi kesempatan bagi para peserta untuk menerapkan langsung ilmu yang telah mereka pelajari dalam dunia nyata.
Berlokasi di kebun Win’s Agro yang dikenal dengan budidaya melon eksklusif, selada hidroponik, dan berbagai tanaman dalam sistem greenhouse — peserta berinovasi membuat sistem penyiraman otomatis yang mampu mengatur suplai air secara mandiri tanpa perlu penyiraman manual.
Inovasi ini bukan hanya membantu efisiensi waktu dan tenaga, tetapi juga mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman yang lebih optimal dan hemat sumber daya. Melalui pendekatan berbasis proyek ini, peserta belajar memadukan teknologi, kreativitas, dan kebutuhan lapangan menjadi solusi nyata bagi dunia pertanian modern.
Kegiatan ini juga memperkuat kolaborasi antara BPVP Banyuwangi dan mitra industri pertanian lokal, agar lulusan pelatihan tidak hanya kompeten secara teknis, tetapi juga memiliki kemampuan inovatif dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi pertanian masa depan.

Salvaging native plants has been an important part of ADOT projects since the 1980s. The widening project near US 93 Cane Springs is no exception.
Over 3,000 salvaged plants and cacti were removed between mileposts 106-110 and relocated to a temporary nursery nearby. An irrigation system keeps the plants watered until their return along the new roadway in 2026 for some and others in 2027. The goal is to help the landscape heal more quickly and minimize the impact of this massive construction project.
The plant restoration process will include using a diverse mix of 25-30 native seed types where the ground was disturbed. The seeds, customized to this area’s conditions, range from grasses to perennials that will help control erosion, support pollinators and just plain look good to motorists passing through. The diversified native re-vegetation through seeding will help prevent non-native invasive plant species from infesting the project area.

We are very fortunate at Burghley to have an irrigation system that has been developed over the last 25 years, operating year-round to reach all corners of the cross-country course.
We work hard to ensure that the soil is in good condition so that it can take up the nutrients put onto it, allowing the water to have maximum impact and make it as green as this.
There are just eight days to go until we see many of the world’s best horse and rider combinations taking on the challenge of Defender Burghley 2025, and we are sure they will be very grateful to our long-standing and hugely experienced team for their tireless efforts to create the best going possible.
