SHThere are parenting phases that genuinely test your patience.
Not the big scary ones… the why are you like this ones.
For example:
My daughters don’t use a top sheet on their bed.
Just fitted sheet and doona.
No barrier. No protection. (For the doona)
I think it’s gross.
They think it’s fine.
They’re 19 and 20… so I’m still hoping it’s “just a phase” 😅
But here’s what I’m realising.
Every phase even the frustrating ones means they’re growing.
Becoming more themselves.
Letting go of how we did things.
And one day, there won’t be phases left for us to witness.
No habits to roll our eyes at.
No little things to quietly miss.
So I’m trying to savour even these moments.
Because they mean I’m still close enough to notice.
Still here for this chapter.
