Let’s break it down. 1 cup of cooked rice = about 200 calories So if you eat: • 2 cups = 400 calories • 3 cups = 600 calories • 4 cups = 800 calories And that is just the rice, not the stew, oil, or protein. Rice is not the problem. The real problem is portion control. You can still eat rice and lose weight, but instead of a mountain of rice, try this: ✔️ 1 cup cooked rice ✔️ Add vegetables ✔️ Add protein (fish, egg, chicken, beans) Now your plate is balanced, filling, and weight-loss friendly. This is your reminder that just because you are eating outside the home, doesn’t mean you need to eat some crazy high calorie meal. There are so many options out there. Think about how you can modify things to better fit your goals if needed. One way is to get a kids meal if can and have a much smaller portion. Portion sizes have gotten so out of hand and combine that with people thinking they need to clear their plate vs listening to their body’s fullness cues. If you have no regard or consideration for what you eat out and don’t listen to your body then you likely will be over eating and end up in a surplus. You have to remember even if a restaurant posts nutrition facts, it is a very rough estimate. You often are eating more calories than realize because they don’t weigh out food. So keep that in mind. Most of us aren’t always going to be able to eat every single meal at home. So understand that you have options and can make things work for you. Hope this helps. Drop questions below.
