But because they’re standing on strong moral principles! When politicians accused the Kikuyu community of fuelling the ongoing Gen Z-led protests against the government, young Kenyans launched an online movement under the hashtag “weareallkikuyus” This is what the elite fear most: a united youth that no longer sees tribal lines. And that’s why they’re so dangerous to the system. Because tribalism can’t divide them. And without tribalism, the system can’t control them. African leaders depend on one strategy: divide and rule. They’ve used tribalism for decades to split voters, create fear, incite hatred and secure power. But Kenyans said “Nah! During #PoliceWeek, I offered an amendment to the Improving Law Enforcement Officer Safety and Wellness Through Data Act, requiring the DOJ to include recommendations that improve domestic violence training. As someone who has lived through this, I know the fear personally, but nothing compares to what we’re seeing now: families being dragged, children assaulted, and even a veteran father of three servicemen struck on the head. Victims are now too afraid to attend court. Due process is being denied. This is not justice. This is not who we claim to be.
