THWhat is DNS?
You type "google.com" and hit Enter. What actually happens in the next 50 milliseconds? Your computer doesn't know what "google.com" means. It needs an IP address like 142.250.80.46. DNS translates one to the other. 🌐 Browser checks cache → OS checks hosts file → ISP resolver → Root nameserver → TLD server → Google's nameserver → IP returned. The entire internet relies on this system running correctly, billions of times per second. When DNS breaks, the internet "goes down" — even though all the servers are running fine. Did you know this whole chain happens every time you visit a website? 🤯
