I wanted to begin using my library more and streaming less, so I began to see my local library as my personal Blockbuster!
Each week I pop over, check out their film selections and take out a few DVDs of films I’ve never seen before to get through my Letterboxd watchlist and also open my horizons to new favorite films of mine!

Today I brought my daughter to the Free Library of Philadelphia @freelibrary — the place where my love for reading began and where I had my very first job. As a teenager, I discovered Fly Girl by Omar Tyree here, and it completely changed how I saw books.
Now, 20 years later, I’m watching my 9-year-old get her first library card, finding joy in reading, and learning about Wonderbooks audiobooks for kids. This library offers so much more than books — from free after-school programs to weekend family events — and it’s all for our community.
Libraries change lives. Support your local library — because you never know whose story will start there next. 📚❤️

luckily we weren’t busy on the day i filmed this because i would’ve been interrupted every five minutes😂
this is just a little peek into what i do as a library assistant on a daily basis - excluding helping customers, yapping with my colleagues, sorting out the tea & coffee trolley for our various clubs, more yapping with colleagues and customers (because we always have our favourite regulars🧡), and searching for books on our shelves for reservations📚
i love LOVE my job! i feel so incredibly privileged to be a library assistant and help people every day, to recommend books and talk about books, to be surrounded by books and have the most amazing colleagues who deal with my menty bs every day😂🧡

MEMonths of research went into this 16-page zine so it’s very near and dear to me, and I hope you can take something new away from it❣️ I didn’t include all the programming I’ve ever seen, just many of my favs + really unique ones 🌟
It took me a week straight just to format this zine, which I worked on solely at various public library locations too!! I needed to be immersed!!! I also don’t have my own laptop LOL so we <3 free computer + internet access @ the library!! 🙂↕️
