THThe Florida Project (2017), directed by Sean Baker, introduced the world to one of the most unforgettable child performances in recent cinema. Brooklynn Prince was only six years old when she played Moonee, yet her performance felt incredibly real and emotional. She went on to win the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Performer and received many other nominations, quickly becoming the breakout star of the film. 
The story follows Moonee, a fearless and imaginative little girl living with her young mother in a cheap roadside motel just outside Disney World. To her, every day feels like an adventure, full of mischief, friendship, and small discoveries. But while the children see magic in their surroundings, the adults are quietly struggling to survive, trying to pay rent and avoid homelessness in a place that feels worlds away from the fantasy promised by nearby theme parks.

Through Moonee’s eyes, the world still feels bright and playful, even as life around her becomes more unstable.
