The Big Bud 16V-747 is a unique, custom-made farm tractor built in 1977 in Havre, Montana, widely recognized as the world's largest agricultural tractor. It features a
-horsepower Detroit Diesel engine, weighs up to
lbs, and is used for heavy-duty deep tillage, capable of covering an acre per minute.
Dimensions & Power: The tractor is 25-27 feet long, 20-25 feet wide, and 14 feet tall, fitted with massive 8-foot-diameter tires. It uses a 24.1-liter, 16-cylinder Detroit Diesel engine.
Purpose: It was designed for the Rossi Brothers in Bakersfield, California, for deep ripping and heavy tillage.
Usage: It spent 11 years in California, then was sold to Willowbrook Farms in Florida for deep plowing before being purchased by the Williams Brothers in Montana in 1997.
Retirement & Return: The tractor was retired in 2009 due to specialized tire issues. Howßever, after being fitted with new Goodyear tires i⁴n 2020, it returned to action on the Williams Brothers' farm.
