Details on the apps I use are in the description! ✨ 🎓 Back in my Sheridan days I used Toon Boom for animation, After Effects for compositing, and Premiere for editing. 🎬 For my 4-year film I animated in Blender for 3D, painted backgrounds in Photoshop, and Procreate for 2D effects—before Procreate Dreams came out. 🎨 Now, as a self-employed artist: I focus on tools without monthly subscriptions: ✅ iPad + Procreate – My go-to for backgrounds, and I love how portable it is! ✅ Procreate Dreams – Super intuitive for animation, and I’m really enjoying it so far. ✅ Calipeg – Feels like Toon Boom but way easier to learn. The selection tool is a game-changer! ✅ ToonSquid – Haven’t tried it yet, but I keep hearing it’s great for lip-syncing. ✅ MOHO – Perfect for rigging and cut-out animation. I’m still learning, but I see it becoming a core part of my workflow. These are just my personal experiences and what works best for me! ❤️ What’s your favorite animation app? Animating on Clip Studio Paint after a while, and omg how nice of a software it is. The question I get ask the most is what software I use, and to be honest I’ve used several, but the best one in term of touch when you draw is by far Clip Studio Paint (@clipstudioofficial) . it’s also the cheapest (the animation tier gives you both animation and drawing software). It has everything made easy for animating, the only thing I feel like some people struggle with at first, is that the timeline is linked to a folder panel on the right, which might be confusing at first, but it isn’t once you get the hang of it. Each layer in the timeline corresponds to a folder on the right, but in the folders, you can have more drawings than the ones appearing in the timeline (and thus in your animation), which allows you to test stuff, add and remove drawing very easily without permanently deleting your drawings because they are still saved in the folders and it’s like, so useful. La question qu’on me pose le plus souvent c’est quel logiciel j’utilise pour animer. J’en ai utilisé plusieurs, mais selon moi, celui qui est le meilleur niveau touché pour le dessin c’est Clip Studio Paint @clipstudioofficial (c’est aussi le moins cher, et avec le tiers animation, est aussi intégré le logiciel de dessin). D’après mes amis, ce qui est un peu difficile à comprendre au début c’est que la timeline d’animation est reliée à des dossiers d’animation sur la droite, mais simplement c’est un coup de main à prendre, pas si compliqué. Chaque calque dans la timeline correspond à un dossier, et dans chaque dossier on peut avoir plus de dessins que ce qui apparaît dans la timeline, et en vrai c’est bien pratique parce que ça permet de vite tester différentes choses, et ajoutant et enlevant des dessins sans pour autant les supprimer complètement. #clipstudiopaint #cspillustration #sponsored #animation #layout #anime #animationstudent #roughanim #roughanimation #animation2d
