ITMy suggested phone camera settings for content creation (see video summary below) ✨
If you’re filming on your phone, these are the camera settings I recommend for anyone filming & creating short-form content:
1️⃣ Use the Grid & Level to get a better eye for your composition
2️⃣ 1080p + 30fps for quality footage that doesn’t take up too much storage
👉🏽 Most social media apps compress your short-form videos to 1080p anyway, so why not just film in 1080p?
👉🏽 you can film in 4k if you want! But I still like 1080p because it saves more space on my phone...and I film A LOT!
3️⃣ Turn on Enhanced Stabilization for smooth, steady shots
4️⃣ Turn off HDR Video
5️⃣ OPTIONAL: Preserve ‘Exposure Adjustment’ to keep your lighting locked in

ETIf you’re looking for the optimal camera settings when capturing photos and video for instagram, then this one is for you!
*PS: these tips are geared towards iPhone users, but the same general tips still apply across all devices!
1: go into your settings, scroll down, and select “camera”. change your video format from “high efficiency” to “most compatible”. this will automatically turn off HDR and shoot all of your video in an .mov format which is the most accessible format across all social media platforms. capturing video in this format will increase file size, but it’s absolutely worth it for the end result.
2: make sure you’re shooting in 4k resolution at 30fps. while instagram will still compress 4k footage to 1080p upon upload, you’re shooting at an optimal setting so it won’t compress it nearly as much.
3: the only time you’d really ever want to shoot at a higher fps (like 60 or 120) is if you plan on slowing it down in a 3rd party video editor to 30fps. instagram only supports 30fps universally, so even if you try uploading other frame rates, they will just get compressed to 30fps anyway.
4: I always recommend using your phone’s native camera app. I’d never use a 3rd party app to shoot photos or video that I plan to use here. you’ll simply never get the same quality as if you have just done it directly in the native camera app.
5: don’t use portrait or cinematic modes unless you’re trying to achieve something specific with them. these features, while really cool, usually end up working against you when you’re not 100% certain how to use them correctly.

GUHere is my process for capturing photos with perfect settings every time! when possible I will start with my aperture setting first, then move on to shutter and finally dial in my ISO to compensate for the light levels in my scene.

CRYou can do this just with your Phone's camera...
Look first things first, it's not the camera you use, but rather how you use it and what you do with the footage after!
Soo....
💡Instead of video mode, use CINEMATIC mode.
💡Switch to f/7.0 to get rid of the crazy over-blur.
💡Lower the exposure to -1.0 (or a bit more if too bright)
💡Bring footage into CapCut & add Hollywood II (33%)
✨Secret Sauce - Add GLOW Effect
And that's pretty much it! 🤌
This only took me 5 minutes to edit, so save this for the next time you film!
