For decades, modern medicine has focused on treating individual diseases like heart disease and Alzheimer’s. But what if those diseases are not the true root cause? According to leading longevity research, aging itself may be responsible for 80–90% of these conditions. Instead of targeting aging, we treat the damage it creates. As we age, our cells lose information that keeps them functioning properly. This breakdown increases inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, and cellular stress, which eventually manifest as chronic disease. In laboratory settings, when researchers reverse biological aging in tissues, disease markers improve or disappear entirely. This reframes everything. What if aging weren't a one-way road, pre-set in our DNA, but actually a system that we have control over and could partially reset? 🧬✨ Very exciting news that this type of regulation, called EPIGENETICS, is here! You will want to get to know EPIGENETICS because it is at the heart of longevity. It's what I received my PhD in and have been investigating the past 30 years! There have been recent advances in epigenetics such as this amazing resetting of aged cells! And even more significant: the recent approval by the US FDA for the 1st human clinical trial to test out epigenetic resetting. The trial will investigate turning back the clock on aged eye cells into younger cells to hopefully improve vision.
