LIThis is the last sugar cookie recipe you will ever need. Why? Because it's simple and delicious, uses only basic baking ingredients, can be customized to suit your flavor preferences, and bakes cookies with nice sharp edges (great for decorating).
I've used this recipe for the past 6+ years and shared it freely on my website for people to try themselves. So to say this recipe is tried and true is an understatement.
Sugar Cookie Recipe:
1 cup (226 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup (110 grams) granulated sugar
1/3 cup (40 grams) powdered or confectioners sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
1/2 tsp (3 ml) almond extract
2 3/4 cups (345 grams) all purpose flour
1/4 tsp (2 grams) salt
Bake at 350* F (325* F convection) for 15 minutes.
