JEI interviewed CVP of Azure Databases at @microsoft , Shireesh Thota, who oversees ALL operational databases at Microsoft, and here’s what he said:
↳ Yes, learn SQL. AI doesn’t replace your need to understand how to efficiently get data out of a database. It makes that skill more important.
↳ AI hallucinations are largely a data quality problem. Context matters more than quantity, so if your model can’t tell the difference between an SSN and a credit card number, it will hallucinate.
↳ AI agents need state, persistent memory that tracks context, actions, and data across steps, to function. The quality of your data infrastructure is now directly tied to how well your AI actually performs.
