For centuries they have been worn by people of African descent and carry strong cultural meaning. At the same time, forms of matted or locked hair have also existed historically in other cultures — including ancient India, Greece, and among certain spiritual traditions. Today the conversation is less about “who can” and more about how and why. Wearing locs respectfully means: • understanding the cultural roots • not treating them as a temporary trend • respecting the craft and the culture In our work we focus on: clean parting safe tension healthy scalp informed choices What do you think matters most?
