**#Found the GOAT seat 🐐✈️ — and as a 6’1″ human, economy is usually HELL!!. But this aisle seat near the back? Game changer!! It’s called the GOAT seat because you can stick your legs out sideways into the extra space — like a mountain goat perched on a ledge 🐐 — totally owning your territory. Most people don’t even notice it because the seat map makes it look like the aisle runs straight, but there’s this hidden space where 3 seats taper to 2. ‘Greatest Of All Time’ also fits perfectly 😎 Extra legroom, space to stretch, perfect for tall people… I cannot overstate how much of a difference this made on a long-haul when you have no choice but to fly economy. Flight gurus swear by it… and now I do too. 🙌” #flighthacks #economyclass #flyingtips

Recently, I talked to a flight attendant I know. He has 20 years of experience in the profession and shared one interesting pattern. He said this: if a passenger orders tomato juice, the crew immediately understands that the person is an experienced traveler. On the ground, tomato juice is rarely chosen. But on an airplane, it unexpectedly becomes one of the most popular drinks. The reason is simple. At an altitude of about 10,000 meters, taste perception changes: sweet and salty flavors are dulled, while the umami taste, on the contrary, becomes more pronounced. That’s why tomato juice tastes rich and full-bodied during a flight, but ordinary on the ground. But it’s not only about taste. According to flight attendants, passengers who choose tomato juice are most often calm and confident. Those who feel nervous usually drink still water or black coffee. Beginners, on the other hand, most often choose sweet soda. l’ve been working in tourism for many years, and as the owner of a travel agency who regularly sends people on trips, I see this all the time. Flights with experienced passengers tend to go more smoothly and calmly. My name is Kate, l’m a travel agent sharing experiences of flights, all inclusive and activities around Pittsburgh. Most people imagine turbulence dangerously tossing the airplane around — but it’s not a threat to the plane. It’s honestly more like driving down a bumpy road. The wings are designed to flex and absorb the movement, just like your vehicle does. But turbulence isn’t caused by potholes or cracks like bumps in your car — it’s caused by air interactions we can’t see. Don’t let that stress you out though. We understand air and weather enough to know where turbulence is, and roughly how strong it’ll be (with some very rare exceptions). It’s not something to be nervous about once you understand it. Once your brain recognizes what turbulence actually is, it stops interpreting it as danger. If turbulence makes you tense up, I’ll teach you how to see it the way I do from the cockpit. Stop Doing This on Planes ✈️ ❌Standing up and crowding the gate before your boarding zone is called, it slows everyone down ❌Trying to board early because your travel companion has an earlier zone, either board separately or wait and go together in the later zone ❌Hogging the armrests when you’re not in the middle seat, middle seat gets both ❌Arguing over the window shade, window seat controls it, aisle seat gets up for washroom breaks ❌Asking someone to switch seats when you’re offering a worse seat, only ask if it’s equal or better ❌Playing videos, games, or shows out loud, headphones are not optional, for kids or adults ❌Ignoring social cues, headphones in usually means not chatty, lights off means trying to sleep ❌Assuming rules don’t apply to you, a little awareness goes a long way Now let’s talk travel deals… 😉 Want help finding the best travel deals, insider tips, and support every step of the way, at no extra cost to you? 👉 Follow me for stress-free travel planning, real advice, and travel tips you’ll actually use ✨ let’s make your next travel adventure the best one yet! #traveltips #flyingtips #traveletiquette #travelwithangelav #stressfreetravel

‼️ AND here are 9 more tips 👇 A few months ago, we asked for advice to help me (Sara) deal with flying anxiety, and you shared so many thoughtful responses 🥹 These are our all-time favourites that genuinely help: 1️⃣ The one you see in the video By lifting your legs during takeoff, you reduce that shaky sensation. It’s like turning on noise-cancelling for your body (I was shocked when I tried it the first time lol!) 2️⃣ The “jelly sky” visual During turbulence, imagine the sky as jelly and the plane suspended inside it. When the jelly moves, the plane moves too, but it can’t fall! 3️⃣ High-BPM music Listening to upbeat music makes me feel like the main character in a movie, and the shaking during takeoff, landing, or turbulence feels way less unpleasant. 4️⃣ Chewing gum It helps release tension & keeps your body a bit more relaxed 5️⃣ Fear-of-flying courses I haven’t taken one myself, but they’re highly recommended by many people. 6️⃣ Follow pilot creators Accounts like @flyman_simon really helped me rationalise what’s happening during a flight through education. 7️⃣ Checking turbulence forecasts I sometimes check @turbliforecast - it helps me mentally prepare for bumpy takeoffs & landings (landing is still the hardest for me) 8️⃣ Dress cosy Wearing comfortable clothes and having a puffy jacket or something soft gives me a feeling of safety & protection 9️⃣ Body scan exercises Learning to mentally scan your body and ground yourself feels like going to a safe place in your home! 😊 Overall, I’ll be honest, there’s always a little discomfort! We’ve been travelling full-time for almost a decade, and I’m still learning how to make flying less unpleasant. But over time, these tips really help, which is why I wanted to share them with you 🤍 I hope this helps and if you have any other tips, I’d love to hear them! 5 THINGS TO AVOID WEARING WHEN YOU FLY 1.) WHITE/PALE COLOURS Little splashes or drips are pretty common when you are flying and these show up so clearly on white or pastel clothing. Even if you aren’t going to spill on yourself, there are plenty of surfaces in the airport and on the plane that you may sit on or brush up against that can be mucky. Instead, choose deeper, darker colours which won’t show marks so easily. 2.) A JUMPSUIT Plane bathrooms are not the cleanest places. Bumpy flights, a few free drinks or just poor aim can leave some sprinkles on the floor. You don’t want your clothes touching that floor. (Avoid maxi skirts for the same reason). Plus, planes can be rather chilly and taking your whole jumpsuit off to pee can be really cold. 3.) DUNGAREES/PINAFORES The extra metal pieces on dungarees and some pinafore dresses can set off the security metal detectors. Then, what do you do when they ask you to remove them? 4.) SHORT CLOTHING This applies to both tops and bottoms. It seems that skimpy is a no-no. One lady was asked to put on a hoodie to cover up her black sports bra and biking shorts on American Airlines in 2022 and she isn’t the only one. I get cold on most flights so having a lots of bare skin is a bad plan. It is best to cover your thighs too for temperature reasons, because plane seats aren’t too clean and because you may be uncomfortable if you legs are stuck to fake leather seats. 5.) TOO MANY ACCESSORIES Make your life easier at security and leave chunky metal stuff at home. You will have to take off watches, sunglasses etc so make sure you have something you can get off easily. The same goes for belts. If you don’t actually need one to hold up your trousers, then leave it in your carry on until you are airside. Big dangly, heavy or hooped earrings are dangerous for flying. Turbulence can send them flying and they could get caught in your own hair or on someone else’s flailing arms. Keep earrings to studs or smaller options. Consider your necklace too. It can also get caught in the case of a bumpy ride. #traveltips #flyingtips
