Autism doesn’t always look the way people expect 💙 My son is what society labels as “high-functioning” — he’s verbal, confident, full of personality, and loves to talk. And yet, he is still autistic. I’m sharing this to help raise awareness and show other mums that autism is a spectrum. Every child is different, and there isn’t just one way it “looks.” Behind the smiles and confidence, there can still be challenges — and that’s okay. Our children deserve understanding, patience, and acceptance exactly as they are ✨ If you’re a parent navigating something similar, you’re not alone 🤍 #autismawareness #autismacceptance #actuallyautistic #autismmom #autismawarenessmonth

✨ Different minds. Same joy. ✨ An autistic child and an ADHD child may process the world differently, but play speaks a language they both understand 🤍 At our centre, we don’t label children by diagnoses — we understand their needs, strengths, and developmental stage 🧠🌱 Through doctor-led assessments, personalized therapy plans, and a safe, supportive environment, we help children grow, connect, and thrive — together 🤝 Because the right treatment doesn’t change who a child is, it helps them become who they’re meant to be ✨ 📍 Global Wellness Centre 📞 Call/WhatsApp: 9501032237 🧩💙⚡

High-functioning autism often goes unnoticed—not because it isn’t real, but because it’s misunderstood. Many people on the autism spectrum are verbal, intelligent, and capable… yet feel chronically exhausted, overwhelmed, or “out of sync” socially. Over time, this can look like anxiety, ADHD, OCD, or depression—when those are actually secondary to how the brain is wired. This isn’t about lacking empathy or effort. It’s about a brain that processes sensory input, social cues, and predictability differently. If this resonates—for you, your child, or someone you love—save this, share it, and follow for more neuroscience-based mental health education. 👇 Comment “ME” if this helped you put words to something you’ve always felt. #autism #autismspectrum #aspergers

When people use “high/low functioning” to describe an autistic person, they’re generally referring to the person’s level of communication. We need to acknowledge there’s a lot more to autism and someone’s overall functionality than just communication. Saying “high functioning” implies there is minimal struggle. Saying “low functioning” implies a person has no personal strengths. Instead of dealing with those untrue implications, AND in order to be ACCURATELY descriptive, referring to a person’s communication ability makes more sense to me. What do you think?? . #autistic #autism #autismawareness #autismmom #autismacceptance #neurodivergent #autisticadults #specialneeds #disability #actuallyautistic #slp #ot #aba #specialeducation

There’s no such thing as mild or high functioning autism. Yes autism is a spectrum. Yes it is experienced differently by each autistic person. Yes high support needs autistic people have, well, higher support needs. But no one who meets the diagnostic criteria for autism has it “mildly,” otherwise they wouldn’t be autistic. Labels like mild, high functioning, and Level 1 (low support needs) are much more about how easy the autistic person is for allistic people to be around. Not how the autistic person actually experiences their own autism on the inside. #autisticadult #autism #autistic #highfunctioningautism #mildautism
