Most of us go through life believing we are the voice in our head. But have you ever stopped to ask: Who is the one listening to that voice? 🧐
In yoga, we talk about Avidya—the ignorance of our true nature.
We often mistake our “mask” for our soul. This mask is the Ego 🛡️, a protective shield we built in childhood that eventually starts running the show.
The ego is a master of disguise. It doesn’t just look like “arrogance”—it can also look like:
• People-Pleasing: A desperate need for external approval .
• The Victim Role: Feeling “wronged” to avoid taking accountability.
• Restlessness: Avoiding the present moment because stillness feels threatening ⏳.
• Comparison: Constantly measuring your worth against others.
The ego wants to be right, while the soul wants to be free. This is why slow, mindful movement can feel so uncomfortable at first—it’s the ego losing its grip!
✨ The Power of Awareness
The moment you start noticing the voice in your head, you create distance from it. As Eckhart Tolle says: “You are not your thoughts; you are the awareness that notices them.”
The Shift:
🔹 From Ego (Reaction): Driven by fear and seeking validation.
🔹 To Awareness (Presence): Guided by clarity and inner confidence.
🌿 The Path Forward
Just as we observe physical patterns in a yoga pose to adjust our alignment, we can observe the patterns of the mind. Through breath and presence, the noise of the ego fades, and something deeper begins to guide us.
It’s a journey from fear toward clarity, and from reaction toward presence. Are you ready to set the mask aside?
