It’s getting incredibly difficult to find postcards when you’re traveling, and I think gift shops just don’t sell enough to justify stocking them anymore. SO KEEP BUYING THEM AND SENDING THEM!! DELIGHT YOUR LOVED ONES! Write one to yourself and send it home as a souvenir! Buy them and send them from home if you can’t find a stamp! Don’t let this lovely tradition go extinct!! I’ve always believed that the smallest things can hold the most meaning. When I look back, postcards and little notes have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up making tiny drawings for the people I love, slipping them into books, bags, pockets… knowing they would be found eventually, at the right moment. And every time my family tells me they still come across one of those old cards, it reminds me why I’ve always been drawn to this kind of connection. As I got older, nothing really changed, I just upgraded from homemade cards to collecting postcards from everywhere I went. Trips, cafés, artists, museum shops… I always brought a few home. Some to keep, some to send, all of them tied to a place, a memory, a feeling I didn’t want to lose. Postcards have this quiet way of becoming little time capsules. You write something simple: a hello, a thought, a memory, and suddenly that small piece of paper holds a version of you that someone can revisit years later. That’s what I love most: how much it says with so little. And that’s really how La Cartita was born. It wasn’t a big strategy or a big moment. It was simply me continuing something I’ve always done: sending art, sending warmth, sending a piece of myself in the mail. Creating something small but intentional that makes someone feel remembered. Every postcard, every envelope, every letter I send through La Cartita feels like a tiny echo of all those childhood moments. And it makes me so happy that this little tradition of mine now gets to live in your homes, your mailboxes, your memories. Thank you for letting me share that with you, month after month 💚
