ROEarlier today, The Prince of Wales delivered a special message to school children across the country as part of the Royal British Legion's annual Remembrance Assembly.
Created in partnership with the National Literacy Trust, the inspiring digital event brought together young people aged 9-14 in schools, libraries, home education and other learning settings across the UK.
Hosted by veteran @jj.chalmers, the assembly combined music, poetry, art and voices from across the Armed Forces community, connecting students to the Remembrance heritage we all share.

CII write this as a veteran who joined the Royal Marines at 16 years old.
Fought and bled for this country on the frontline at 18 years old.
And had been to more friends funerals than weddings by the time I was 30.
I write this from the heart (not ChatGPT), mega sticking my neck on the line, and with deep concern.
I am SO passionate about Remembrance Day.
I marched on my first ever Remembrance Day parade aged 13 as a Marine cadet and even then I felt overcome with pride, gratitude and emotion.
What is going on in our nation right now is breaking my heart.
We should NEVER feel this way on Remembrance Day. There should be no other thought in our minds apart from remembering those who gave their all for this country.
But the truth is - I can wholeheartedly see how people could become resentful and ungrateful towards this day if the situation in our great nation worsens further.
“What have I got to be grateful for?”
“What freedom?”
“This country hasn’t done anything for me!”
I can almost hear people saying things like this.
We have GOT to never forget.
We have GOT to set an example to our children and to everyone around us.
You see all these “influencers” and not a single one of them puts up anything about Remembrance Day - just a link to their product for you to buy.
You turn on TV and presenters aren’t wearing a poppy.
Good god just make an effort.
I understand that most civilians will never be able to even slightly comprehend the horror that those young men went through for you to be able to live your life here today.
But please try and understand. And be proud to wear that poppy. Be proud to be British. Our heart still beats and we are still very much alive.
Some of us still suffer with the effects of war on a daily basis. Daily dark thoughts, daily battles, daily depression.
Just spare a moment and spread the word.
We must NEVER let this day die.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. 🌹
