NAWhat’s the difference? 🤔⬇️
A lot of us have been taught to “scrub” the base gel into the nail! Which is true, using a scrubbing motion when applying the base gel will help work the gel into the nail plate for better adhesion.
BUT we want to make sure the base gel is applied in a nice even layer on the nail! ✅
If we scrub too much, to where we can still see a lot of texture on the nail, this is actually too applied too thin!
The base gel provides adhesion, and a flexible cushion between the natural nail and the hard gel. Applying it too thin can leave some areas of the nail without base, and it won’t give that cushion needed for flexibility!
Apply your base gel with nice even pressure, making sure the entire nail is evenly coated. ✅
Some builder gels don’t require a separate base gel, some do. So always make sure and follow the manufacturer instructions. 🫶🏻
