C-sections save lives. This is not about blame. And it’s not about doing something “wrong.” Sometimes they are absolutely necessary. But pressure through the birth canal isn’t just physical. It’s one of the first ways the nervous system learns how to release, breathe, and down-regulate. That compression and decompression helps activate cranial rhythm, lymphatic flow, and the first full exhale. When that pressure is missed, for example in a C-section, the body adapts. It learns to hold instead of release. Later, that can show up as anxiety, restlessness, overthinking, or feeling disconnected. Not because something is broken. Not trauma. Stored pressure. The nervous system doesn’t care about time. When the body feels safe, it can complete what it didn’t get to finish.
