LETook me way too long to learn this SQL habit 😅
Before I analyse any new dataset now, I run one query first:
SELECT customer_id, COUNT(*) AS occurrences
FROM orders
GROUP BY customer_id
HAVING COUNT(*) > 1;
It finds every duplicate row instantly.
Because here's the thing — duplicates don't throw an error. They just quietly sit there making your totals wrong.
GROUP BY + HAVING COUNT(*) > 1 is your safety net.
Save this for next time you get a new dataset 📌
