The rain tried to interrupt our day at @theplayers… and honestly it just made it more memorable. Ponchos came out, umbrellas everywhere, and somehow the energy still felt electric walking around TPC Sawgrass. This song is pretty much how the day went… STOP, carry on! 😂
There’s just something about this tournament that brings everyone together. Locals, visitors, golf fans, and people who are mostly there for the atmosphere, the people watching, and the experience. Rain or shine, it’s one of those @pgatour events in Jacksonville that always delivers. If you’ve never been to THE PLAYERS, there’s a couple more days or add it to your list for next year!

CAThere are few places on the East Coast where golf occupies land this dramatic — and even fewer where it’s open to the public at an affordable rate.
Meet the Great Dunes Course at Jekyll Island, Georgia.
This historic seaside course sits along a stretch of Atlantic coastline that, in most parts of the country, would be lined with multimillion-dollar homes and gated communities. Instead, it’s municipal golf — and for golf course architecture fans across the Southeast, that makes this place an absolute treasure.
Originally designed by Walter Travis in 1927, Great Dunes sits on land long associated with the winter playground of America’s wealthiest families (think the Morgans, Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, and Pulitzers). Interestingly, it was also one of Travis’s few public designs, as most of his work was created for highly private clubs.
But the course fell on hard times in the 1940s and ’50s after wartime closures and coastal storms. The original back nine was eventually lost, leaving just nine Travis holes remaining in the seaside dunes.
After decades of further decline, the Jekyll Island Authority launched a master plan to revive the course and ensure a sustainable future for golf on the island.
What architects Brian Ross and Jeffrey Stein created feels like a home run. Their reimagining preserves the historic dunes holes while introducing thoughtful Travis-inspired additions that tie the routing together beautifully.
The dunes holes will deservedly get the spotlight, but the inland holes are no slouch, with a few of them reminding me of something you might see around Pinehurst. The green complexes throughout are an absolute blast and to me were the stars of the show — sporting the kind of contours that would likely bring a smile to old man Travis.
I have a feeling this place will be talked about quite a bit in the years ahead — and it’s only going to get better as it continues to grow in.

PRLook through my lens to realize how beautiful life can be in the simplest moments — laughter with friends, the calm of the ocean, or the beauty of a historic place that makes you pause and take it all in. You know, those moments that feel just a little out of the ordinary. They are what slows me dwon, and inspire me to create and work with more beauty.
If you’re wondering, this was a visit to the The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art — a fantastic and extravagant architectural adventure right here in Sarasota. The museum tells the story of the circus in the U.S., preserves the Ringlings’ residence much as it was in the 1930s, houses thier impressive art collection and I cant forget their amazing garden.
A must-see!
