The only way out of the tendinopathy hellscape is loading the tendon. This targeted exercise will begin with what you can handle, then the exercises get progressively harder. The progression over time let’s the weenie tendon remodel appropriately. A pill won’t fix it. Rest won’t fix it. Now in the beginning when there is inflammation, tendonitis can be helped with NSAIDs and a bit of rest. However, that part fades as the injury lingers on. This is why NSAIDs don’t seem to work for tendon issues. Women over 40 with declining hormone levels need to know we are going to get tendon issues, it’s not if, it’s when. We can fix it, but we have to keep on it. It’s really pesky. #tendonitis #tendon

HELP! I’m down to zero fully-working limbs now 😭 Let this be a lesson for all of us… Start off slowly at the gym and gradually increase the intensity and duration of your workouts instead of trying to do too much too soon, especially if you’re a beginner of disabled, like me; prioritize proper form and learning the equipment before pushing yourself to the limit and potentially injuring yourself. DON’T FORGET TO WARM UP! Thank goodness for my wax therapy bath, it saved me today!! All my Ehlers Danlos Family; we are at a significantly higher risk of developing tendonitis due to the inherent joint hypermobility which weakens the connective tissue in tendons, making them more prone to inflammation and injury from overuse or repetitive motions; essentially, the loose connective tissue in EDS can lead to unstable joints and increased strain on tendons, causing tendonitis. Don’t make the same mistake I did (again make sure you pace yourself, warm up and know your limits. #wheelchairgirl #chronicillness #ehlersdanlossyndrome #adaptiveworkout #tendonitis #satisfying #wheelchairworkout #adaptivefitness #wheelchairlife

TAKE OFF YOUR ELBOW SLEEVES AND FIX YOUR ELBOW PAIN 💭 Let’s fix your pain properly and stop wrapping up the pain. The reason you have joint pain if it’s tendon related is because 1. The tendon is being overloaded 2. The tendon is being overused Your muscle has most likely become to strong for your tendon Reduce back your weight 30% from your max and start applying my tempo style training 4 Second eccentric (on the way down) 2 Second concentric (on the way up) Let’s re strengthen your tendons first, this way we will get back to doing shoulder & chest pressing PAIN FREE! Don’t push through pain, I’ve done it and it’s not clever Train hard, train smart & save this video to remove your elbow pain! #chestpress #shoulderpress #gymtips #pressing #tendonpain #tendonitis #elbowpain #elbowinjury #gym #trainingtips #training

TIBIALIS ANTERIOR is the largest muscle on the front of the lower leg. It attaches to the upper aspect of the tibia (lateral condyle and body of tibia) and the 1st metatarsal of the foot (bone just before the big toe). The muscle acts to dorsal flex the ankle, or in other words pulls the foot upwards. . . #instituteofhumananatomy #anatomy #anatomylab #anatomyclass #cadaver #cadavers #cadaverlab #physiology #physiologyclass #biology #biologyclass #science #scienceclass #tibialisanterior #calf #calfstretch #calfstrength #shin #shinpain #shinsplints #tendonitis #run #runners #running #foamroll

Do you struggle with Tennis Elbow? Tendonitis? You can increase blood circulation to your elbows by massaging the tendons in your inner knee for 30–60 seconds. More circulation decreases inflammation and improves comfort in your elbow This is QRA Acupressure, not TCM Acupressure. This is not a permanent fix, it provides relief for some, but not all. #QRAacupressure #jimmyacusensei #elbowpain #tendonitis #tenniselbow #restorativelongevity Content is for Educational purpose only. Turmeric shots are completely pointless. And when practitioners encourage them I can tell they haven’t read much about inflammation or turmeric. Curcumin, the main active constituent in tumeric that has been studied for its anti-inflammatory properties makes up only 2 to 5% of turmeric. You could add a few bottles of turmeric and still not get enough curcumin in one of those shots. Also, curcumin is not very bioavailable - not much of it reaches the bloodstream. And it is rapidly eliminated from the body. Supplement manufacturers use different techniques to enhance bioavailability. Some ground turmeric bought in US grocery stores is also a hefty source of lead contributing to lead poisoning. Now imagine buying one of those spices unknowingly and then dumping it into a shot. This practice isn’t based on science and it may do more harm than good. Lastly, the continual quest to fight inflammation is a questionable practice at best and may decrease training gains. if you like tumeric then sprinkle it in your food. Don’t be fooled into taking turmeric shots. please share with someone who may find this information helpful! Thanks! PMID: 28358991, 31500361

If you are finding it hard to jump, run, or go upstairs, it may be a sign that your hips need strengthening . Did you know one of the causes for weak hip flexors is down to sitting a lot 😮 . Strong hip flexors can help you: . ▪️Run or move faster ▪️Increase power ▪️Help reduce leg injuries of joints in the knee and ankles ▪️Contribute to a strong core ▪️Reduce lower back pain . I do between 10-12 reps on each side . I finish off with stretching my hip flexors (check hip flexor stretches further down the grid) . I have had Achilles tendinitis at various time points as an athlete- I know what did it this time- acute increase in duration of and frequency of uphill running while traveling. Should have known better! These are the things I do to help get over this condition. I also frequently refer my patients to physical therapy to help guide their recovery and help them stay active. Because I won’t be jumping this week I am substituting in heel drops as an option for impact training to stimulate mechanotransduction (the process by which impact creates a signal to the bone especially at the hip to form new bone). To all my PT friends please chime in at the comment section with your pearls and wisdom😊. I hope this helps you stay active as you work through your own Achilles tendinitis if you have it. @em_kosbab12 @dr.wendychorny @ptpowercouple @drlisamooredpt @ptforwomen #orthopedicsurgery #achilles #tendonitis #physicaltherapy

Do your calf raises look like this? You may have a weak tibialis posterior resulting in a positive Too Many Toes Sign like the my right leg above. 🗣️ SEND THIS TO SOMEONE WITH ACHILLES OR ANKLE PAIN! This is a physical therapy test we use to see if a person demonstrates weak tibialis posterior during functional closed chain heel raises during a rehab evaluation. At the top of the heel raise, on the left leg you can’t see my pinky toe but on the right you can. Notice how my left leg supinates at the top whereas the right leg goes straight up the middle. I’ve been getting Achilles pain on the right so I did this test and discovered I was positive for weak inversion. I then did a bunch of the above corrective exercise designed to promote more supination and inversion by facilitating tibialis posterior activation and improving my neuromuscular coordination and activation. After 4 sets of 10 I was able to perform a negative “Too Many Toes Sign” test. But now I must stay on top of this corrective exercise before my workouts to ensure I permanently correct this movement pattern. The best part? My Achilles felt great the next 2 days! Consistency is key so I will be incorporating this into my workout routine each week! ⚠️ Disclaimer: I over exaggerated the supination for visual effect and teaching demonstration. #achilles #physicaltherapy #physio #rehab #anklerehab #tendonitis
