DEKiwi rolled in ground flaxseed, not just for fiber and healthy fats, but because it makes the kiwi less slippery and much easier for little hands to grab and self-feed. A simple texture tweak that makes a big difference for BLW success.
We also did Ezekiel flax whole grain toast topped with a soft mash made from egg, avocado, and peas. This combo helps cover key nutrients for this stage. Think iron from the egg, healthy fats from the avocado to support brain development, and fiber from the peas, all in an age-appropriate, mashable texture. You can spread the mash on toast or serve it on its own and let baby explore at their own pace.
Nothing fancy, just nutrient-dense foods, supportive textures, and letting her take the lead. And judging her reaction, this meal was a win.

FA👍 Don’t put your 6-month-old Baby in a high chair for feeding! This is not a good position at this age because babies don’t yet have proper pelvic and spinal control and stability.
👶 Of course, there are exceptions – developmental “springs” who can already sit stably at 6 months. If your Baby passes the flat-surface sitting test I show here – go ahead, you can seat them in a high chair.
📊 But 95% of infants at 6 months are not ready to be seated.
⚠️ The fact that your Baby tries to pull up and stand at 6–6.5 months doesn’t mean they have sitting control!
🪑 To sit in a feeding chair, a baby must sit well and stably – not stand up.
🕰 They also don’t need to know how to get into sitting by themselves yet, because that’s a milestone that comes later.
💡 I’m against the myth “don’t sit until they sit on their own” – but that applies to babies at 7–9 months, not 6! For you it may seem just 4–5 weeks, but for your Baby that’s almost 20% of their whole life so far!
🧠 That’s why we should approach sitting, supporting sitting control, and feeding positions wisely and age-appropriately.
🚫 Forcing an unstable baby to sit in a high chair won’t do any good – and from my clinical experience I can say that premature seating can negatively affect a child’s development later on.
📚 Your Baby will have plenty of time to sit in life – school, studies, work, car, computer.
🙌 So how to feed? On your lap! In the next reel I’ll show you a super comfortable and safe position for you and your Baby :)

AMWhat is Happening With My 6 Month Old?!
Just as soon as you thought things were going to improving after the 4 months sleep regression 🧨
Your baby hits a new stage of awareness and mobility and sleep gets wild again 😩
⭐️Sleep regressions can really happen at any age as ultimately a regression will follow development. When your baby is going through a surge of learning or development they may spend more time in active sleep resulting in more wakings, restlessness or challenges with settling causing it to seem like sleep has regressed!
So what causes a 6 Month Sleep Regression:
✅Physical Developments: Rolling, scooting, planking and pushing up to try and crawl. This movement stage can cause frustrations and disruptions!
✅Separation awareness or parental preferences - some babies will start to be clingier with one parents or caregiver and develop a recognition that sleep is coming and begin to cry! Sleep is separation and this can feel hard!
✅Change in Sleep Needs - Your 6 month old may need slightly longer wake periods and slightly less nap time overall. You may need to shift schedule. Most babies still need 3 naps but less total daytime sleep!
✅Watch the Solids food intake - Solid feeds can displace milk feeds if fed too early or too often, milk is still the main calorie source. Foods can also case reactions or constipation.
Signs of the 6 Month Sleep Regression:
1️⃣More Night Wakings especially around midnight and the later half of the night
2️⃣Gets upset when they know sleep is coming - routines or going into the bedroom
3️⃣Get more upset when preferred parent isn’t doing the sleep routines
4️⃣Short naps and waking up crying or fussier
5️⃣ Your Baby gets into awkward positions, on their belly or side and get escalated quickly
I work with so many families in the 4-6 Month range! There is so much going on and it’s a good time to start thinking about Sleep Hygiene and making changes if you are ready 💕
