Video & caption by @wanderlust_flyer We took this footage last Wednesday at Whitfords beach. Unknowingly many people were in the water, as you can see by this video the Tiger shark comes extremely close to this woman, the shark was just curious and after inspecting her a little closer shows no interest and swims away. Sharks unfortunately have such a bad name for them, due to rare attacks. When in reality we most likely swim with them everyday without knowing. We love our sharks 🦈 ‼️ AS SOON as I realized people were still in the water after spotting the tiger shark, I immediately called through to the Surf Life Savers to inform them as well as sprinting down the beach from where I was filming (800 meters away) to get everyone out of the water. Happy Sunday ✨ One of the most beautiful things we have ever seen 💙 The standoff: the finale The lengthy colour displays continued, attracting photographers, swimmers and freedivers alike. Everyone was mesmerized by the encounter, taking turns capturing their desired photos and videos. The cuttlefish absolutely did not care about anything in the world, focused on asserting their dominance on each other instead. I was completely mesmerised by the patterns striating across their bodies. It looked like waves of darkness flashing across steadily and consistently. After about 10-15 minutes, the cuttlefish parted ways. It felt much longer, a moment we will never forget! Heartbreaking 💔 🐨 😢 This male koala was found hugging and grieving his female mate who had just died. These are such beautiful creatures. And sadly koalas are facing extinction due to land clearing, logging and mining. Koalas are endangered because they are losing their habitat. We need to stop destroying their homes and we need environment laws that protect koala habitat from being logged, mined and bulldozed. Here in Adelaide we are lucky to still have koalas in the wild, but we need to protect them. Thank you @koala_rescue and the volunteers rescuers for the work you do and for sharing this heart breaking story with us all. 🙏💚🐨 ………….. KOALA RESCUE Inc received a call from a most concerned member of the public, who reported that they had found a koala on the ground at the base of a tree. However, there was also a second koala involved. On arrival the rescuer located both a deceased adult female koala and a second adult male koala. It is always devastating to attend a rescue involving a deceased koala,  but it was even more heartbreaking to witness the male koala actually holding and hugging the deceased koala. This type of behaviour is rarely witnessed by our rescuers, but confirms the empathetic and caring nature of koalas. Our rescuer retrieved both koalas and after ensuring that the male koala was in good condition, released him nearby. This male koala’s reaction to death, really does represent the truly beautiful nature that koalas are capable of demonstrating. 🐨 SAVING KOALAS FOR TOMORROW 🐨 . I was incredibly lucky to witness many beautiful scenes last year, but it was hard to top this one. The beams of Aurora Australis swirled in the sky as a cloud inversion flowed down over Cradle Cirque. Barn Bluff, one of Tasmania's tallest mountains, stood still, just like me, and we took it all in. The biggest gift of being a photographer is not only being able to replay these scenes in my mind whenever I like, but also being able to share them with you.
