🔥 5-4-3-2-1 April Challenge 🔥 5 - Workouts/Week 4 - Servings of 25-30g protein daily 3 - Quarts of water daily 2 - Books Read - 1 fun, 1 growth 1 - Hour of no screens before bed 💪🏼 Workouts: Strength and resistance training are excellent, supporting your posture, joint and ligament health, strengthening bones, preventing injury and supporting our bodies in daily activities. A combination of lifting and elevating your heart rate are ideal. 🍗 Protein: Protein helps us repair and recover, generate new tissue and cell growth, fights cravings, staves off hunger, and helps us feel more full. Plus supports hormone health, immune health, and gives us energy. Aim for 4 servings of at least 25g daily of lean protein. A supplemental protein shake or collagen is okay too. Avoid any added sugars. 💦 Water: Supports fluid balance, help fuel our muscle growth and repair/combat sore muscles, skin clarity, flushes out toxins, joint stability/mobility, aids in digestion and prevents constipation, helps combat cravings and improves metabolism. 📚 Books: Choose one that brings you joy, laughter, and allows you to escape temporarily. Choose another that improves your mindset, helps you grow as a human, and that you can learn from. Aim to read 10-15 pages of each daily. 📱 Screen Time: We all know it and do it. But unplugging for an hour before bedtime can help us feel more restful, improve our sleep, stabilize our circadian rhythms, and improve our mood too. ☀️ In addition to these I always set a goal to get outside and get some sunshine in my day- early morning is ideal. Aim to get 10,000 steps in daily- walking is so good for our bodies. In addition to 4 servings of protein, our bodies can also benefit from 4+ servings of veggies, carbs rich in fiber, healthy fats, and fruits and foods rich in antioxidant and phytonutrients. ➡️ Sweat. Nourish. Hydrate. Rest. Challenge yourself. Grow. And watch what happens when you stack these habits daily and how you feel at the end of the month.
